The Nebraska volleyball team won their sixth straight and 19th of their last 21 matches
When it comes to the hottest teams in the country, look no further than the Nebraska volleyball team. The Huskers beat the Purdue Boilermakers 3-1 in their Friday night match.
That win moved the squad to 19-4 on the season and has them 19-2 since they opened the year with two straight losses. The victory also allowed them to stay in a tie atop the Big Ten standings with Penn State.

The Nittany Lions are currently the nation’s top-ranked team, though it should be pointed out the Cornhuskers won the only head-to-head matchup this season between the two. Nebraska won that match 3-1 as well.
En route to the 25-22, 21-25, 26-24, and 25-23 victory over Purdue, Mikaela Foecke was the star of the show with 21 kills and 10 digs. She also shot .364 from the floor. Foecke continued to show why a team that some thought would be rebuilding this season, is instead geared up for yet another championship run.
The win over 22nd ranked Purdue means Nebraska now has nine wins over ranked volleyball teams. There are just seven matches to go in the regular season and then it appears they are ready to begin their run for the next national championship.

Next for the Nebraska volleyball team is the Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana has just one win in the conference. Saturday’s match begins a run where the Cornhuskers will not play another team that has a winning record against other Big Ten teams. That includes a match against a Rutgers team that is currently 0-13 in conference.
