Nebraska Volleyball Sees Unbeaten Streak Come To An End
The Nebraska volleyball team went into Saturday’s game as the most dominant team in the nation and the Big Ten.
Even some of the best programs around are bound to have a hiccup now and then. That’s what happened to the Nebraska volleyball team when it got upended, and quite convincingly by the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Last weekend, the Huskers avoided their first loss of the year thanks to an improbable comeback. The team couldn’t do the same against OSU and ended up losing to the 19th ranked team three sets, to one.
Perhaps there is solace in knowing that Big Red simply seem to have a problem with Ohio State. The Nebraska volleyball team has lost its last three matches against the Buckeyes. This time, that loss ended a 28 match winning streak.

Before the loss, the Huskers had been quite dominant this season, losing just four sets the entire season. It’s one of the reasons why Saturday’s defeat was so surprising. It’s a safe bet fans thought this matchup would be different than the past.
Even more surprising for Nebraska volleyball fans than the loss was the fact they looked like they were going to cruise to another win. The Cornhuskers won the first set, 25-17 and appeared to be on cruise control. Going on cruise control was likely the problem.
OSU won the next two sets, 25-21 and seemingly broke the spirits of the Huskers as they didn’t put up much of a fight in the fourth set. In that fourth set, the Nebraska volleyball team went down 25-13 and their unbeaten streak was officially ended. Now it’s time to start another one.
