The Nebraska Football team has officially gotten into the race to try and land former Michigan State offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock.
Anyone who has watched the Nebraska Football team over the last few years has noticed that the offensive line could use some work. The massive number of injuries that the Huskers have suffered in that position group this year has underlined how important it is to have a plethora of good o-linemen on the roster.
The Nebraska Football team is the first Big Ten program to offer former Michigan State Spartans offensive lineman Keyshawn Blackstock. Blackstock just recently entered the transfer portal, jumping off the rapidly sinking ship that is MSU this year.
It’s not clear just how much interest in Blackstock is going to be coming in the next few weeks. However, the Huskers have their foot in the door. The most interesting part of getting that foot in the door is that this isn’t the first time NU has gone after Blackstock.
The Nebraska football team also pursued the monster offensive lineman when he was playing in the JUCO ranks. That particular time, the Spartans won the derby. It appears that he regrets that particular decision now.
Nebraska Football going after old target
The Huskers could certainly use an offensive lineman who happens to stand 6-foot-5 and weighs in at 315 pounds. Obviously, he won’t be able to join the roster this year, but the Nebraska Football team is working hard on trying to build up the sign something fierce for the future.
While most of those efforts have been geared towards high school players like Grant Brix, they would love to get some experienced players added to the line as well.
Blackstock played in four games for Michigan State before deciding to transfer. According to PFF, he earned a grade of 61.1 in those four games, though he did have limited snaps in each contest. It’s worth pointing out that would be among the best overall grades for offensive linemen on the Nebraska football team this season.
