It’s pretty clear that the Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team is one of those teams that will really compete for the Women’s College World Series. In fact, they’re so good this year that you can’t blame Husker fans from already wondering, when does the Women's College World Series start?

The good news is that we’re only a couple of months away from the Women's College World Series starting as the National Championship portion of the NCAA Tournament will start on May 29. But that’s really just part of the postseason excitement.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team is having a good enough season that they probably don’t want to skip anything. And that means that while the WCWS starts on May 29, that’s not when the postseason starts.

When does the Women's College World Series start?

All the fun and festivities get started really on May 11 when selection Sunday tells the teams who made the postseason where they will be playing in the regionals. One might hope that the Huskers would be one of those hosts.

The lucky few who win the regionals, the Super Regionals then further pare down the teams that are in the postseason. And then when everything really starts to shake out, it’s time for the Women’s College World Series.

While the men’s version has set up a home in Omaha, Nebraska, the women’s version has a similarly long history playing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. And on June 5 or June 6 the champion of the college softball world. Could that be the Nebraska Cornhuskers? They’ve got the talent to at least give it a run.
