Following the Nebraska Cornhuskers win over UCLA, Bruins’ head coach Mick Cronin addressed the media. It was the first time his squad had faced the Huskers in years and it clear was not a particularly fun outing for the veteran head man.

The Huskers were able to overcome the new addition to the Big Ten thanks to a stellar defense and timely shooting. Meanwhile, UCLA struggled to hit the big shot and was without some players.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers managed to toppled the No. 15 team in the country for their 20th straight home win. It was clear Cronin was not at all pleased with his teams’ performance.

The UCLA Bruins head coach statements after the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ game

“We didn’t play well enough to win against a good team on the road. That’s really all I have to say.”

Cronin wasn’t happy about his team’s performance without Eric Daley.

“We still fought. I don’t like that stuff, it’s five on five. It’s not the power play. You don’t have to play a man down. We’re missing two guys but it’s not the power play. We’ve got to deal. We got guys on scholarship that are good enough players. You can’t go 4-28 (from 3) and have any chance to win against a team that stands people in the paint and dares you to shoot. That’s pretty much the game in a nutshell.”

He also made it clear that his team needed to play better against the Nebraska Conrhuskers if UCLA wants to return to its winning ways.

“No, we got to make some shots. Dylan Andrews has got to play way better. Dominick Harris and Trent Perry got opportunities today. They played a combined 17 minutes, neither one of them scored. I told them they were going to get an opportunity with Eric (Dailey Jr.) out. They played 17 minutes and didn’t get a basket.”
