The Nebraska Cornhuskers are halfway to history with a solid lead at halftime over Troy in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. A 29-10 run to end the first half was huge for the Huskers, but no player was more crucial to that run than Nebraska's Pryce Sandfort.
For a player who averages 17.8 points a game, Sandfort proved he can be a player who can change everything for the Huskers in the NCAA Tournament, and it all started with his 17-point first half. After starting ice cold from beyond the arc, specifically 0-5, Sandfort was the spark Nebraska needed from three, hitting five in the first half.
Sandfort is the leading scorer for the entire game with 17 points and was the catalyst Nebraska needed for a 41-25 lead going into halftime.
Nebraska fans can't get enough of Pryce Sandfort in first round of the NCAA Tournament
Sandfort has put on a show for Nebraska fans, in what is basically a home-court game for the Huskers in Oklahoma City. Sanfort's first round play has Husker fans going wild on social media, practically proclaiming their love for him.

That tied Keisei Tominaga's Nebraska record for most in an NCAA Tournament game. pic.twitter.com/n3AyZPJvPO
The High School Musical reference just fits so well in this scenario.

Well he will probably appreciate it down the road.
Nebraska took an early punch from Troy but turned it on to build a 41-25 halftime lead. Pryce Sandfort continues to carry for Nebraska as they are 20 minutes from history.

It is not how you start, but how you finish, and Nebraska is making that quote look more and more true.
"Pryce Sandfort has March legend written all over him."

On March 2, I said on That’s a W Nebraska’s guy was due to explode in the tournament…
17 first-half points. 5 threes against Troy. 👀 https://t.co/DmxDyyIKD4 pic.twitter.com/4c3EnlVFvc
This is a very sneaky Nebraska team, and with Sandofrt and Sam Hoiberg working together, it feels like the Huskers could be unstoppable.
Nebraska's Pryce Sandfort looks like Buddy Hield in this building from 10 years ago. He's got 17 points in the first half to put the Huskers up 32-21 over Troy.

Buddy Hield certainly made a difference for Oklahoma in the NCAA Tournament, and Sandfort is that for Nebraska now.
Pryce Sandfort statue when? #Nebrasketball

If Nebraska can finish this game, then the Sandfort statue may start being built as soon as the final buzzer sounds. Nebraska can feel history being made in Oklahoma City; they simply need to finish the game strong.
