Nebraska football vs Colorado becomes 'the ref show' after repeated horrible calls

Whatever the Big 12 is paying the refs calling the Nebraska football game, it's too much.

While Nebraska football fans should be happy that it appears they're going to beat Colorado for the first time in years, what happened on the field in the second half of the game soured the mood quite impressively.

That's because Husker fans watched one positive play after another get called back for holding. While, oddly enough, Colorado held on nearly every pass play, in ways that even had the announcers wondering out loud about whether they are able to tell what is a penalty and what is not.

Part of the issue was that the Nebraska offense was having problems moving the ball in the second half. In fact, with a little over four minutes to go in the game, NU had not scored a single point in the second half. The good news there is that Colorado only scored one touchdown.

The Nebraska football faithful were the ones that had the most problems with the calls, even though there were several calls that didn't seem to make a lot of sense against Colorado. The overwhelming majority of calls went against Nebraksa and with the officials being from Colorado's Big 12, some believed there was something at play that was less than on the up and up.

The flags were certainly frustrating for Nebraska football fans who have seen their team struggle in big games like the one on Saturday night. However, what's clear is that the Huskers are 2-0 for the first time in a very long time. And a win over the Colorado Buffaloes makes that all the sweeter.
