Since Thomas Fidone got healthy, one of the biggest mantras for the Nebraska football team has been to just “get him the ball.” And when he’s able to step up and be a big target, things have gone really, really well.

Things might go even better this year as Fidone, like several other Husksers, has spent some time reshaping his body. Among those have noticed that he’s getting bigger and likely better, is offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield.

Satterfield talked about that Fidone this offseason to get better and look better. Among them the OC said the star tight end "looks like a different guy right now,” while adding that Fidone is up to around 250 or 255 pounds.

Nebraska football star is like ‘a different guy’

Speaking on Sports Nightly last week, the OC went into more detail about how much he’s seen out of Fidone in a short period of time.

"Can absolutely roll. His ball skills continue to improve ... The great thing about Thomas is he's obsessed with being the best version of himself ... He's improved since spring ball."

Satterfield is, of course, also the tight ends coach this season. And that’s allowed him to take a deeper and longer look at guys like Fidone.

For the Nebraska football team, Dylan Raiola could do a lot worse than having someone like Thomas Fidone to throw the ball to when his receivers are otherwise covered. And the entire offense could do worse than a 250 pound tight end blocking for the run game.
