Nebraska Football takes a hit in its hopes for top RB target
Nebraska Football recruiting is a wild and sometimes wonderful ride. There may be no better explanation for the twists and turns and ups and downs that can happen than when you are talking about a roller coaster.
The Huskers’ rollercoaster has been on the uphill the last two days, as Nebraska Football managed to land two commits in the span of about 24 hours. Both wide receivers in the 2025 class, there was much rejoicing about Matt Rhule’s class for the latest cycle.
However, recent news sounding what many see as the top running back target for the Cornhuskers might be a sign that the rollercoaster is about to start speeding downhill again. The news surrounding Jamarion Parker can’t be seen as good news for NU. Even if it’s not yet the worst news to come from the cycle regarding the former Arkansas commit.
Since Parker became a free agent again, the Huskers were seen as the front-runner for his services. Not long after he got a Nebraska offer, he was taking a surprise visit to Lincoln. There were some whispers that the 4-star Missouri prospect was on the verge of pulling the trigger. And then he took a visit to Alabama.

Obviously, the Huskers’ pursuit of Parker is not dead and buried. He’s their top running back target for a reason and Matt Rhule isn’t one to back off of someone because they got offered by Alabama. At the same time, the running back has made it clear that he was quite interested in the Crimson Tide.
It was thought he was waiting for an offer from them before he came close to making a decision on his next school.
The Nebraska Football recruiting efforts took a hit with the Alabama offer to Jamarion Parker. Now it’s time to redouble their efforts.
