The Nebraska football team has been ramping up its recruiting in the state of Texas since Matt Rhule arrived in Lincoln. He and his staff have decided that the dropoff of the Huskers can be tied to the dropoff of players recruited from the state.

One analyst believes that Rhule's reputation in Texas and a resurgent bit of optimism surrounding the Nebraska football team could be about to lure one of the best players in the 2025 class to the Cornhuskers.

Mike Farrell is quick to point out though, that bringing in Michael Terry II isn't quite a done deal yet. But there is a real chance that they could pull off the upset.

Farrell was doing one of his "fact or fiction" columns where he talks about things he believes could or couldn't happen. The topic turned to a fact or fiction about Michael Terry II and whether he could pick the Nebraska football team over the Texas Longhorns. He pic

“Could” is the key word here, as Texas, Oregon, and others likely have an edge at the moment. But an official visit to Lincoln in April is a good sign for the Texas ATH, and let’s not forget how revered Matt Rhule still is in the Lone Star State. I still think they are an underdog for the 6'3", 210-pounder, but they are going to make a strong push."

Nebraska football still has its work cut out to land Michael Terry II

Farrell isn't the only one who believes the Huskers could land the 4-star athlete. On3 currently has Texas pegged as the front-runner, but the Cornhuskers are a close second.

The site currently has Michael Terry II rated as the top athlete in the 2025 class and the 29th player in this recruiting cycle overrall. The other recruiting services have similar scouting reports on a player who could turn into quite a wide receiver get for Matt Rhule and company.

The next step in making Terry to the Nebraska football program a fact will be selling the Huskers to the athlete when he takes an official visit to Lincoln during the spring game on April 27.
