Nebraska football quarterback room in upper half of Big Ten according to analyst

The Nebraska football quarterback room is getting some pretty decent love from one analyst, considering how bad it was a year ago.

The Nebraska football team, like most teams in the Big Ten, have likely cemented their rosters for the coming season. With just over a month to go until fall camp,  we have a pretty good idea of who will be where, and a decent idea of who will be the starting signal callers for each team.

Keeping that in mind, All Huskers analyst Austin Jacobsen recently took a pass at trying to rank where every team’s quarterback room in the conference will rank. Considering how bad the Huskers were last year and the fact that only Heinrich Haarberg remains with three new additions, I’ll absolutely take a prediction of “middle of the road.” Especially before Dylan Raiola has thrown a pass in a real game.

The Nebraska football team is a bit of a mystery because of the situation surrounding the quarterbacks. There’s even a chance the returning starter will be getting more snaps at a new position than under center. Knowing that, ranking the Huskers 8th out of 18 teams seems pretty darn good.

Jacobsen did talk about the fact that it seems like there’s going to be a new starter at quarterback. And he believes the guys who take over the job will be more than just “ok.”

Add in recent additions such as fellow freshman Daniel Kaelin and NAIA Player of the Year Jalyn Gramstad, and Nebraska has reason to feel excited about improvement under center heading into 2024.

That number 8 spot has the Huskers just behind Michigan State and transfer acquisition Aidan Chiles and just ahead of Purdue’s Texas transfer Hudson Card.

So who is at the top of this list? It’s a bit of a no-brainer, considering the question marks all over the conference. The analyst has Oregon and Dillon Gabriel at number one. At the bottom, a spot the Nebraska football quarterbacks could have been in during the 2023 season, the Maryland Terapins and MJ Morris occupy the 18th spot.
