Nebraska football has some serious work to do in order to land Chase Loftin. That’s probably not what Husker fans want to hear as the Millard South tight end moves towards the end of his recruitment.

Loftin is ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the entire state of Nebraska by all three major recruiting services. He’s also considered among the best tight ends in the 2025 class, thanks in large part to his 6-foot-5, 213 pound frame.

Loftin recently spoke to 247Sports about how things are going on the recruiting front, and Nebraska football fans aren’t going to be happy with how unsure he sounded.

"It's going to be a really hard choice for me. They've all done a good job recruiting me.”

The good news here is that he’s about to take an official visit to Lincoln. The bad news is that he’s clearly loved the other visits he’s taken. When talking about an in-state prospect, you’d like to see him a bit more effusive in his praise for Matt Rhule and his team.

Of course, it’s not as though the Huskers are behind the eight-ball here. On3 still gives NU the best chance to land Loftin, over pursuers like Kansas State and Missouri.

He’s talked before about the relationships he’s building with the Cornhuskers coaches. Especially the man who will be leading tight ends this year and into the future in Marcus Satterfield

Nebraska has been on quite a run lately with tight ends. The Huskers have signed players like Thomas Fidone and Carter Nelson some of the last few classes. While Loftin isn’t as highly ranked, he’s been getting about the same amount of attention.

The 4-star prospect certainly knows that the Cornhuskers have been doing at his position. As a receiver-first tight end, he’s almost certainly looking forward to seeing and hearing how Nebraska football plans to use him. When he takes his visit to Lincoln, it will be a heck of a chance for Matt Rhule and company to do that just.
