The Nebraska football team is looking to have quite the month of June for recruiting. The Huskers will have an especially big couple of weekends on June 14 and June 21. And now NU has added another big visitor in the form of Murray, Kentucky athlete, Jeremiah Jones.

Jones is a prospect that 247Sports’ Brian Christopherson noted “did a little bit of everything” though it seems most analysts see him as a safety at the next level. That wasn’t an overstatement.

Jones had 22 catches for 326 yards and 2 touchdowns and rushed 62 times for 304 yards and 3 TDs. He also completed 54 of 102 passes for 643 yards and 6 TDs. On defense he had 66 tackles, 4 sacks, and 5 tackles for a loss. Stacked on top of that was 2 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries, including one he returned for a TD.

It’s not a surprise, keeping all those numbers in mind, that quite a few power programs are starting to take a look at Jones. He's listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and the fourth-ranked player in Kentucky.

Nebraska football enter the race for versatile athlete Jeremiah Jones

Currently, the Louisville Cardinals are leading the race for Jeremiah Jones, with On3 giving them a 99.5 percent chance of securing the athlete. However, the landscape could change dramatically with Nebraska football's entry into the picture.

In fact, it appears that the Huskers have gotten their names in the mix at just the right time. While other Power schools are starting to notice Jones, he doesn’t yet have a ton of offers. Getting him to Lincoln could be a way to keep their foot in the door. And then, once he sees what the Cornhuskers have to offer, they might be able to bust that door wide open.

The Nebraska football team has a lot of work to do for the 2025 class. But June could be a massive boost.
