Nebraska football doing battle with Wisconsin for in-state tight end
The Nebraska football team under Matt Rhule have made it clear that they want to lock down the state. They want to make sure that no team can come in and take the best players in any class.
That doesn't mean that Rhule has been able to completely close the state borders. The talent in local high schools has gotten to the point where not every is going to be playing their college ball in Lincoln. However, guys like Reiman Zebert are the kind that Rhule wants to keep from going anywhere else.
It appears Rhule has his work cut out for him. In fact, it might be rather hard to keep Zebert away from a conference rival. According to Bryan Munson, the Platteview tight end is starting to lock down visits. The Huskers are going to get one of those visits. The Badgers are getting one too.
The Badgers are far from the only Power 4 school that are coming after Reiman Zebert. The 6-foot-6 tight end is the 6th rated player in the state of Nebraska, and the number of big time programs that are after him shows just how much better the high school talent in the area has become in a short amount of time.

In nine games for Platteview this fall, Zebert recorded 28 receptions for 677 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had 11 receptions for 170 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore in 2022.
It would appear that he's only getting better and with his frame and speed, he could be a weapon for whatever team gets him. That could be the Nebraska football team, it could be Wisconsin, or it could be someone like Stanford, Miami or Arkanas.
