When the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team is going head-to-head against the best teams in the country for the best prospects in the country, falling behind the opposition is going to happen. It’s what the team does after it loses ground that is going to dictate how much success Matt Rhule and company can really have here.

For the Nebraska football team and David Sanders Jr, it appears there’s work to do. There’s also some ground to make up. While the Huskers trip was called “crazy” by Sanders, it appears he had an equally insane visit to Ohio State.

Now that he’s visited both, it’s all about the Nebraska Cornhuskers finding a way to stand out, even if his trip to Columbus was more than he could have hoped for. And according to the top ranked offensive tackle prospect in the country’s father, it was indeed something the entire family didn’t expect.

“The official visit was awesome,” Sanders Sr. reportedly told Lettermen Row. “I mean Ohio State really took their time and really spent a lot of time with our family. Coach [Ryan] Day and Coach [Justin] Frye were by our side the whole entire weekend. I mean, they left no stone unturned. So everything was awesome at Ohio State this weekend.”

Nebraska football left waiting and watching after David Sanders Jr’s trip to Ohio State

The bad news here is that now that Sanders’ visit is done in Columbus, it’s officially time  to make a decision. The offensive tackle has said that once he’s done with visits, he’s done with them. The Providence Day School (NC.) prospect now just needs to sit and think.

Is the Nebraska football team in the running? It appears they are. It’s just a matter of how much they’re really in there. Once the calendar turns to July, a commitment decision could come at any time.
