Nebraska Cornhuskers News: Iowa might finally have a QB, more
For the first time in a while, the Nebraska Cornhuskers' quarterback situation seems settled. Even if head coach Matt Rhule hasn't officially announced that Dylan Raiola will be the starting quarterback for 2024, there's talent at the position in a way that hasn't been the case for years.
Meanwhile, the Iowa Hawkeyes' quarterback situation is a total mess. They've had several quarterbacks transfer en masse. And the ones who left weren't particularly good anyway.
However, it looks like Kirk Ferentz and company are about to land a quarterback who was, at the very least, competent last season. Of course, Brendan Sullivan was far from a world beater. He was beaten out for the starting job at Northwestern last year, took over after an injury, and then lost the job again towards the end of 2023.
It appears he lost the job again this spring and decided to enter the transfer portal right before it closed. He's now visiting the Hawkeyes and could compete with JJ McNamara for the starting job. He could also take the starting job while McNamara works on coming back from his own injury.
Either way, the Nebraska Cornhuskers could be facing off against Sullivan for a second straight season on a second team.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team found out its conference schedule on Tuesday. Some of the most noteworthy matchups come at home when the Huskers take on Washington and Oregon. They're also traveling to UCLA and USC. There is only one team in the Big Ten that they'll play twice. It's the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Even if Caitlin Clark isn't still around, the Iowa-Nebraska rivalry in women's basketball has been a fun one to watch.
The Omaha World Herald's Sam McKewon recently wrote about one of the teams that could surprise this season. He warns that the Nebraska Cornhuskers need to be especially wary of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
