The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team continues to be a team that can’t be counted out until the final out is recorded. After a disastrous opening game in the team’s hope opener, Will Bolt’s team managed to win convincingly on Saturday and rallied yet again on Sunday.
A six-run sixth inning in which the Huskers scored all six runs with two outs proved to be the difference on Sunday afternoon. The Cornhuskers fell behind 6-1 to start the game and then spent much of the contest battling back.
Eventually, they scored 11 unanswered runs to win the game, 12-7.
“Stick to the process,” shortstop Dylan Carey said after the game about his team’s ability to come up big in the clutch. “One out, no outs, two outs, it’s the same thing. Just go up there ready to attack at all costs. That’s what we did and got the win out of it.”
Next up for the Nebraska Cornhuskers is a mid-week tilt against an old college baseball power in Wichita State. This two-game series will be a test of the process and how strong the 9-4 Nebraska Cornhuskers are.

- The Nebraska women’s basketball team almost pulled off a massive upset against top-seeded Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game. The Huskers in fact, led for most of the game but couldn't quite close out the Hawkeyes in regulation and eventually, they fell in overtime, 94-89.
- If there is good news to take from that development, it's that the season isn't over. There's very little doubt that the Huskers are making the NCAA Tournament. Maybe they'll even get another shot at Iowa.
- On the men's side, the Huskers beat Michigan by 15 and with Wisconsin's loss to Purdue, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are the 3-seed. Thanks to Indiana's win over Michigan State and Illinoi's victory over Iowa on Sunday, the road to the semifinals is favorable with Michigan, Penn State and the Hoosiers in their side of the bracket. NU will play its first game on Friday.
