Nebraska Cornhuskers reportedly 'all in' on former Commodore
The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team is fresh off one of its best seasons in some time. Now the focus is about taking the next step and there is one player that just entered the transfer portal who could help them with that.
Camden Kozeal is a former Vanderbilt Commodores outfielder and DH who also just happens to be a Nebraska native. And he’s available. And it appears the Cornhuskers are looking that way.

Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball should be ‘all in’
While nothing is totally official yet, and there is certainly no guarantee the Nebraska Cornhuskers could land him, college baseball expert Kendall Rogers made it clear the Huskers would be “all in” on Kozeal if he had the call.
Now it’s just about making contact and closing the deal. There are reasons this could be a quick move. And obviously, there are some things standing in the way of the Huskers landing Kozeal.
Camden Kozeal making the move?
Kozeal hails from Millard South and while it wasn’t enough for Nebraska to reel him out of high school. It might be enough to get him out of the transfer portal.
Those who point to him going elsewhere when he was first looking at colleges might be missing something important. Who wouldn’t go to one of the best college baseball programs in the country if you could? Especially when NU’s success has been shaky at best before 2024.
Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball could land big talent
In his freshman season this past year, Kozeal missed some time with injury, but was plenty productive when he did play. In 43 games he hit .284 with 5 homers and 28 RBI and 1 stolen base. He’s struggling a bit in the Cape Cod League with the Bourne Braves, hitting just .186 but still, he’s playing in the Cape Cod League.
Should the Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball manage to land Camden Kozeal, it would be one of the bigger recruiting coups Will Bolt has pulled off since arriving in Lincoln. Stay tuned.
