Nebraska Basketball has had a Jekyll and Hyde season. At home they look dominant, even had a convincing and emotional win over the top-rated Purdue team. But on the road, it has been a different story. Why does this team look so different when playing on the road?

To answer that question we can look at the rest of Big Ten play. It's hard to win on the road regardless, but especially this year, not many teams are having success away from home. With how the season has unfolded for Nebraska Basketball, the goal of reaching the national March Madness tournament is still in reach.

The fact is that this team has talent, but a lot of what allows them to compete against better squads is their energy and hustle. Look at how this team performs when playing at PBA! All teams try hard, so if this is going to be an edge, as a team you need to put in even more effort to turn 50/50 moments in your favor.

Going forward on the road, Fred Hoiberg needs to instill a sense of urgency from tip-off at away games. The players on the court and bench need to have an extra sense of team spirit and need to encourage each other that much more on the road to create their own energy when away from home.

Nebraska Basketball chances from here

There is zero doubt that this team is talented and fun to watch when clicking on all cylinders. But the stark contrast has been noticeable and will need to be fixed for this team to have any hopes of a run in the Big Ten tournament or even a possible national Cinderella run.

When players like Keisei Tominaga and Sam Hoiberg get going, it's contagious. Against Rutgers on Wednesday, this Nebraska Basketball team will need to step up to the grueling road obstacle and put up an inspired team performance.
