The Nebraska Basketball team finally got some good news earlier this week when the Huskers landed their first transfer portal player in Andrew Morgan. The question now is whether or not more good news is coming anytime soon.

If one were to embrace their inner pessimist, then one would have to say that things aren’t looking great. Earlier on Wednesday Frankie Fidler announced he would pick his next team on Monday. The prevailing vibe is that the former Omaha Maverick is going to Wisconsin to join former high school teammate Chuckie Hepburn.

If that wasn’t deflating enough, some new rumbles around Nebraska Basketball portal targets see the Cornhuskers losing ground. While it’s important to note that Fred Hoiberg and company haven’t dropped entirely out of the race for either Pharrel Payne or William Kyle, the smoke is blowing in the opposite direction, reading into On3’s latest reports.

Nebraska Basketball signs aren’t pointing to wins for Pharrel Payne or William Kyle

According to the recruiting experts, Indiana is now looking like a team that is picking up steam in the recruitment of Payne. At the same time, it doesn’t appear the Huskers are completely out of the running. However, with Payne set to take a visit just after the dead period ends on April 12, he might be a Hoosier soon after.

The news about William Kyle is a bit more frustrating if only because he’s a Bellevue, Nebraska native. Those are the kind of players Fred Hoiberg would love to welcome back, if they decide to leave in the first place.

The same report that offered bad news for Nebraska Basketball in regards to Payne, believes that both Texas A&M and especially Wake Forest are big time players for Kyle. The former South Dakota State forward is said to be wanting to make a decision by May, so the game seems just about up for him.

Things aren’t over for either prospect in regards to Nebraska Basketball but these updates are far from the kind of news Husker fans should love to hear at this point in the game.
