When it comes to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes, it’s not just current Nebraska football staffers and coaches who have a problem with Coach Prime’s clan. There’s at least one former Husker coach who has his own problems with the hype CU constantly gets.

That makes quite a bit of sense, when you consider that Jay Norvell is one former Nebraska coach who has to hear about all things “Coach Prime” more than anyone else. After all, he coaches at Colorado’s bitter rival.

Jay Norvell was speaking on the hype surrounding his rival coach, during Mountain West Media Days, when the former Nebraska football coach made it clear he thinks his own players aren’t getting enough attention.

Ex-Nebraska football coach puts Coach Prime’s players on blast

"I was reading about Colorado's QB and he threw for 3200 Yds. So that means Brayden's thrown for more yds than anybody at Colorado Boulder has ever thrown,” Norvell said, talking about CSU quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi “I don't have any feelings about Deion Sanders. I don't think about him. Naa"

This is hardly the first time that Jay Norvell has fired off a shot across the bow at Deion Sanders. It seems clear that the two just do not like each other very much. At least part of the reason for that could be that Norvell has been working hard to climb the coaching ladder.

Sanders, on the other hand, seemingly gets jobs because of the flash factor he brings.

And despite posting a 4-8 record, Sanders routinely gets talked about for NFL head coaching jobs. Meanwhile, Norvell is toiling away in relatively obscurity as he tries to rebuild Colorado State.

The two coaches will once again face off this fall. And the former Nebraska football coach almost certainly hopes he gets the last word.
