Dylan Raiola joining Nebraska football 'all but a wrap,' recruiting analyst says

Recruiting analysts believe Dylan Raiola's visit to Lincoln means Nebraska football has landed the 5-star QB1.

While Nebraska football fans are still pinching themselves and trying to determine if the Dylan Raiola flip rumors are true, recruiting analysts continue to believe the 5-star quarterback is indeed about to become a Cornhusker.

In fact, in a recent discussion with Chad Simmons, On3 recruiting analyst Josh Newberg made it clear that he believes the official visit Raiola has planned for this weekend means it's a done deal for Nebraska.

After Simmons said that he believes things are trending in the right direction for Nebraska football and Dylan Raiola, Newberg piled on. "You're right, it's trending towards Nebraska so much so that it sounds like it's all but a wrap once he arrives in Lincoln this weekend."

Of course, Husker fans have heard this kind of talk before. Especially earlier this spring. There was a time when the top quarterback in the 2024 class was a hair's breadth away from committing to Nebraska. And then everything changed.

Suddenly, Raiola was a commit to the Georgia Bulldogs. Cornhusker fans felt as though they had been jerked around. Then they turned their lonely eyes to Daniel Kaelin and this whole rollercoaster ride seemed to be over.

Things different for Nebraska football this time around?

While I'm fighting the urge to get carried away with the tide of optimism that has flooded Husker Nation over the last 48 hours, it does seem different this time around. The attitudes of Georgia fans is different this time for one thing.

This spring, Bulldogs faithful were quietly confident that the quarterback's relationship with Kirby Smart and his coaching staff was enough to make him a solid commit. On Tuesday, the SEC powerhouse's fans are discussing trying to stop his flight to Lincoln from leaving.

The good news? We're officially less than a week away from signing day. One way or another this soap opera is going to end next week. The bad news? There's still seven long days until this Nebraska football soap opera is over.
