CJ Wilcher didn’t go to Iowa. Nebraska Basketball fans can at least take solace in that.

Outside of the Hawkeyes, it seems there might not have been a bigger punch in the gut than where the former Husker guard decided to go. If Alanis Morrisette was doing a part 2 of her most famous song, she’d likely including CJ Wilcher going to Texas A&M.

Wilcher announced on Monday morning on his official Instagram account that he picked the Aggies. Of course, he entered the transfer portal just a few days after he and the rest of the Nebraska Basketball team lost to Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Adding one more verse to the Morrisette song, Wilcher joins his former athletic director. Just ahead of the NCAA Tournament appearance, the Nebraska basketball team found out, with the rest of the athletic department that Trev Alberts was headed to College Station

There’s a rather hilarious video that made the rounds around social media on selection Sunday where Wilcher is shown realizing that his team is facing off against Trev’s new program. He doesn’t appear happy about it. It appears CJ came around to the idea.

Nebraska Basketball fans not thrilled about where CJ Wilcher decided to transfer

Some Nebraska Basketball fans had just a one word explanation for their feelings about CJ Wilcher choosing Texas A&M.

Some just went with the crying emoji

Some fans are still supportive of the former Husker guard, but wonder if Texas A&M was the best choice. Win over Nebrasak

Others just had a real hard time with the news.

This account thinks maybe CJ did some networking after the game.

Perhaps the Huskers are destined (cursed?) to constantly go up against Texas A&M.

CJ Wilcher will spend his final year of college at a program that has been a perennial NCAA Tournament squad, so there's that. He's also outside the Big Ten, unlike Eli Rice. Once Nebraska Basketball fans get over the initial sting, they'll realize that's a good thing.
