It's only been a couple of days since Chubba Purdy said goodbye to the Nebraska football program. While the Huskers are likely still trying to figure out their next move, it doesn't appear Purdy is hurting for offers.
In fact, it turns out that the man who finished the 2023 season as the starting quarterback for Nebraska football got a couple of P5 offers as some early Christmas presents.
Purdy will almost certainly have a number of different destinations he can try out. After all, he's spent the entirety of his college football career with two well known Power 5 programs.
It looks like he won't be having to go the Group of 5 route when he does decide on a new school, unless he feels that's the best fit. While he's been projected to be a Boise State get, he's clearly got some more powerful options.
Purdy took to social media a couple of times on Saturday to let people know the first few schools who have come calling since he officially entered the transfer portal. The TCU Horned Frogs were the first to get their foot in the door.
Not long after the Big 12 program came calling, he also got one that is quite a bit more interesting because of its new ACC affiliation. The Cal Golden Bears offered Purdy on Saturday as well, apparently wanting a new quarterback to lead them into competition in their new 2024 conference.
Ex-Nebraska football star has some serious options
Of the two offers that Purdy got on Saturday, the most intriguing would have to be TCU. The Horned Frogs run an offense that meshes well with what the quarterback can do, when he's healthy.
He showed flashes of brilliance in his two starts with Nebraska football and left many wondering what could have been had he been the starter earlier in the year. Now, interested Husker fans will have to see what he can do elsewhere.
