In one week, the season officially begins. And with it, the official march to the College Football Playoffs. Of course, this season is quite a bit different than any other season. We've gone from the regular old pollls picking the champ to the BCS, to a smaller version of the playoffs until this year's 12-team CFB field.

While the Nebraska football team will almost certainly go to a bowl game this year, they are unfortunately most likely not slated for a berth in the College Football Playoffs. One reason for that is the Big Ten is still just a little too good.

In fact, my first, Week 0 predictions have three teams going. That includes the No. 2 seed in Ohio State.

As a reminder, the way the field works this year, The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded 1-4 and each will receive a first-round bye. Teams seeded 5-12 will play each other in the first round on the home field of the higher-ranked team. Without further ado, here's how I see things shaking out.

I think Ohio State is going to win the conference and will be the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoffs. Other Big Ten teams that are slated to make it are Oregon and Michigan. The Ducks will end up losing in the Big Ten title game, which will slide them down a bit, but not much.

You might notice that while Nebraska football isn't getting in, there are a couple of former Big 8 rivals who will in Kansas State and Missouri. We'll see how things shake up when the season officially gets under way.
