Now that Matt Rhule is locked down as the head coach of the Nebraska football team for the foreseeable future, Husker fans' focus turns entirely to a big game on Saturday night. The Cornhuskers face off against the USC Trojans in a game that has been billed as a Blackout.

The game is one of the biggest of the Matt Rhule era, in part because of all the buildup to the game. The Trojans are ranked No. 23 in the country, but it's more important than that. Should NU manage to find a way to win on Saturday night, they improve to 7-2 and are all of a sudden at least a dark horse playoff contenders.

If they lose, the unrest that started after Nebraska lost to Minnesota is going to get louder. Some aren't all that happy about the direction of the program. Considering just how good USC is, there's going to be plenty of people who worry if the Trojans' potent offense moves over, around, and through a defense that has struggled at times this year, especially lately.

Nebraska vs USC final odds

Despite the fact that the Trojans would be big favorites, a home game in Memorial Stadium, at night, has led the Huskers to only be 4.5-point dogs according to FanDuel SportsBook.

Vegas does expect this game to be more of a shootout than some other games on the Huskers' slate. In fact, there isn't likely to be much defense of any kind from either team. The total is currently set at 58.5 for both teams.

While it would be great to feel confident and secure in a game like this, the Huskers have gone long stretches where they simply don't play all that well. They can't afford to do that against an offense like the Trojans.
