Since the first odds for the Nebraska football team against the Akron Zips popped, Las Vegas has been plenty convinced that the Huskers were going to not only win, but win big. In fact, NU has been a five-touchdown favorite since last Sunday, when the odds really became a thing.
The Huskers didn't have the kind of game they hoped to have in their season opener. Favored by a touchdown, they only managed to beat the Bearcats by a field goal. And that win was sealed by a last-second interception in the end zone.
That less-than-impressive win over Cincy hasn't convinced the oddsmakers that the Nebraska football team will still romp over the MAC team. As the day has dawned for the Huskers' week two matchup, the line has barely moved at all.
Nebraska football vs Akron final odds
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Huskers are still -34.5 over Akron. The projected totals have also not really changed since the lines first surfaced last weekend.
The over/under for Saturday night's game is set at 47.5, and the Huskers are such a favorite that money lines were taken entirely off the board. In other words, there is no way to simply bet that Nebraska will win.
The massive spread and the relatively low total means that not only are the Cornhuskers expected to romp, but Akron isn't expected to score many points. I agree with both.
Nebraska vs Akron final prediction
Nebraska football 42, Akron Zips 10. This score means that the Huskers will just barely miss the spread but still walk away with a big win.
