One week after the Nebraska softball team used its pitching to get to the super regionals, the Huskers still had very good work out of the circle, but it was the offense that really got the headlines. NU's ability to beat teams in several different ways is one of the reasons head coach Rhonda Revelle said "all bets are off" as her team prepares for the Women's College World Series.
“All bets are off, and there are eight teams standing,” Revelle said after the Huskers run-ruled Oklahoma State in Game 2 of the super regionals on Saturday. “I think we can play with anyone and have shown we can.”
Nebraska almost run-ruled Oklahoma State twice this weekend. They won the first game 8-1 and the second game 9-1. Overall, ace pitchers Jordy Frahm and Alexis Jensen allowed three runs over the five games they've played so far in the NCAA Tournament.
Count Oklahoma State coach Kenny Gajewski among those who think the Cornhuskers can compete for a Women's College World Series title.
“It’s not fun to be on the other side of them (Nebraska)”

Kenny Gajewski gives Nebraska softball a WCWS endorsement after dominant sweep
“They pitched very well the first two weekends here,” Gajewski said after Nebraska swept his team out of the super regionals. “…We have a good offense, and we were mismatched for a lot of this (super regional). They are just clicking at the right time.”
“I just feel like they have a lot going,” Gajewski added. “They are athletic up and down the lineup, can pop a home run here and there. They are just tough and take Rhonda’s and Jordy’s personalities and run. It’s fun to watch them, and not fun to be on the other side of it.”
Nebraska’s two other NCAA tournament opponents — South Dakota and Grand Canyon — have felt that, too. Through five tournament games, Jensen and Frahm have allowed three total runs.
The Huskers' latest endorsement comes from a coach who absolutely knows what he's talking about. Gajewski has been the head coach at Oklahoma State since 2016, with a record of 441-185. He has taken the Cowgirls to the WCWS five times and won the Big 12 tournament title once.
The Cowgirls finished 2026 with a 41-17 record and clinched OSU's sixth super regional appearance in the last seven years. However, Nebraska was yet another bump in the road towards OSU getting home-field advantage in the Women's College World Series. This is the second consecutive year that Oklahoma State did not qualify for the WCWS after making it to Oklahoma City for four straight seasons.
The journey to the WCWS is Nebraska's first since 2013. While that means they're relatively new to this kind of play, their first opponent is very new. The Arkansas Razorbacks are making their first-ever trip to the Women's College World Series. The SEC team brings one of the country's best offenses along with them. Frahm and Jensen will have their work cut out for them. Of course, the Cowgirls' offense had a very good regular season as well.
The Nebraska softball team will next get to show the confidence and resolve it's demonstrated throughout a 51-6 campaign on Thursday against Arkansas. Time and networks aren't yet known.
