Spring in Lincoln means that the weather is even more unpredictable than normal. That appeared to be the case on Thursday evening when the Nebraska softball team waited and waited and waited and waited to start its super regional matchup with Oklahoma State. Despite having all day to play the game, television broadcast agreements kept it from being moved up, even after weather reports showed that the later into the evening it got, the worse the conditions might be.
Bound and determined to try to play the game, Jordy Frahm did take the circle in the top of the first and mowed down the opposition; however, before the Huskers could come to bat, a lightning storm moved into the area, and play was suspended. Originally, officials believed the storm would move through quickly and that the game could eventually resume, so both teams ended up sitting and waiting with very little to do. That's when the real fun began.
While Nebraska softball won't play Oklahoma State until Friday afternoon, both the Huskers and the Cowgirls found time for fun and games. In fact, as the two teams danced the night away until the contest was eventually officially suspended, there were plenty of shots to entertain viewers who valiantly stuck with the broadcast.
At one point during the delay, a trio of Oklahoma State players was seen practicing their dance moves, which looked a bit like the boot-scootin' boogie. Not to be outdone, quite a gang of Nebraska players decided to put together their own dance routine. However, they chose to dance to the Cupid Shuffle, delighting anyone in the park who was left to see.
The storm delay vibes from both Nebraska and Ok State are everything. We got cupid shuffling.

It's always interesting to see how teams handle very long delays, especially when it's ahead of or in the middle of an important game like the Super Regional. No doubt there were plenty of nerves on both sides. Fans usually expect the players to be all business all the time.
It helps the players unwind and relax, especially when there really isn't anything to do but try to stay loose and ready to go should the powers that be decide it's "game on." The Huskers, especially, might have a little bit more of a load to carry, considering how truly incredible the 2026 season has been.
NU has lost just 6 games all year and mowed through the Lincoln regional without allowing a run in its final two games. Now they face one of the powers of the sport in Oklahoma State, which would love to get back to the Women's College World Series and essentially have home-field advantage since it takes place in Oklahoma City.
And yet, neither team took itself too seriously. Once it became clear that a game originally slated to start in the early evening wouldn't really get going until late into the night, Nebraska and Oklahoma State engaged in some good old-fashioned antics that reminded everyone they were still playing a game.
