Nebraska’s Oklahoma pipeline may offer ideal post-WCWS reload Transfer Portal pickup

The Nebraska softball team obviously has the Women's College World Series to worry about this week. However, whenever their run in the postseason eventually ends, Rhonda Revelle and Co. can't rest on their laurels. In the go-go world of college sports, they'll need to start reloading immediately. Tia Milloy could be one very nice way to kick off that reload session.

Should the Huskers go after Milloy, who announced on Monday that she would enter the Transfer Portal when it opens? Milloy has played the last few years for the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Cornhuskers have certainly had a very good track record of bringing someone from OU to Lincoln.

Milloy made the announcement one day after her Sooners saw their season end. She'll now get a jump-start on looking for her next team as Nebraska advances to the Women's College World Series, which has been a second home for Oklahoma over the last decade. While it's far too early to know whether Revelle and NU are interested in Milloy and whether that interest is mutual, the success of other former Sooners in Lincoln should at least hint at an attempt to keep the pipeline open.

"After much consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility left," Milloy said in her announcement. "I will leave Norman with countless memories and a family for life."

Tia Milloy could give Nebraska softball another Oklahoma transfer portal swing

"Thank you to my teammates and coaches, & thank you Sooner nation for 2 amazing seasons."

It's not surprising why Milloy is looking for another home. Milloy appeared in 91 contests over the past two seasons, making 16 starts. However, once SEC play arrived in 2026, she was relegated to a role where she was primarily used as a pinch-runner.

Milloy hit .259 as a freshman in 54 at-bats, and she finished the 2025 season with five home runs, 13 RBIs, five walks and an on-base percentage of .333. As a sophomore, her batting average improved to .353 in 34 at-bats. She concluded the year with four home runs, 22 RBIs, six walks and four stolen bases.

If Nebraska does go after Milloy and shows real interest, she'll be able to talk to a couple of former Sooners in Jordy Frahm and Hannah Coor about what it's like to make the jump from Norman to Lincoln. Coor, especially, could be a bit of a guiding light for Milloy as she's a former teammate and doesn't have the "born and raised" in Omaha profile of Frahm.

An ace outfielder, Coor spent her first four collegiate seasons with Oklahoma before joining Frahm at Nebraska this season. Out of eligibility, Coor won't be a future teammate of Milloy, but she can at least discuss the pros and cons of playing for Rhonda Revelle.
