Matt Rhule and Nebraska just opened a 4-star door Kenny Dillingham thought was shut

Not all that long ago, it looked like Nebraska football had lost out entirely on 4-star wide receiver Nalin Scott. Things can change quickly in college football recruiting, and that was demonstrated again on Wednesday when it was revealed that Scott is planning a trip down to Lincoln to finally get a look at what the Huskers have to offer.

The Cornhuskers had been thought to be among the favorites to land Scott earlier this spring. However, after seemingly hinting that Matt Rhule and company were very much in the race, the 4-star wide receiver committed to Kenny Dillingham and Arizona State.

Nebraska might be on the verge of stealing a 4-star right out from under Arizona State

On Wednesday, Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman reported that Scott is planning an official visit to see the Nebraska football program this weekend. While the wideout is still technically committed to the Big 12 school, he at least wants to see what’s out there.

By visiting the Huskers, he’s essentially finally taking the official visit he was scheduled to take this spring. Before he took the trip, he pulled the trigger on the Arizona State pledge.

Scott is a 6-3, 200-pound prospect at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. One of the things that stood out when NU got into the fight this spring is that they were doing so relatively late in the process. That might have been why he committed to ASU before seeing Lincoln.

However, Matt Rhule and the coaching staff have been working on him over the last month.

June is expected to be a big month for the Huskers, recruiting wise. That was before they got the flip target to promise to see everything Nebraska offers young players. Now that he’s taking an official visit, things could ramp up quickly.

For whatever reason, June 20 is one of the biggest days on the recruiting calendar. With Nalin Scott taking in the Nebraska football team, it could be the kind of day Husker fans remember for quite a while.
