It was just this earlier this morning that the Nebraska football staff appeared to be set, and the turmoil was over. Now, safeties coach Miles Taylor, who has been on the Huskers staff for about a month, is gone.

On3's Sean Callahan reports that Taylor, who came to Lincoln to coach the safeties under new defensive coordinator Rob Aurich, is headed to the NFL to coach the same position under Jesse Minter on the Baltimore Ravens.

Minter has been working quickly to put his staff together, and after getting his defensive coordinator, Anthony Weaver, in place, he looks just about done with the hiring of a short-lived Nebraska assistant.

Before joining NU in January, Taylor worked under Minter with the Los Angeles Chargers for one season. Minter was just named the Ravens’ head coach on January 22, replacing John Harbaugh and working quickly to put together a staff that has quite a strong college bent.

Before Taylor was with the Chargers, he spent five seasons at South Dakota from 2020 to 2024, where he worked with new Nebraska defensive coordinator Rob Aurich. The two were on the same staff in 2020 and 2021.

The big question now is whether Rhule will go look for another safeties coach, or simply expand the role Addison Williams holds with the Huskers. He's currently the cornbacks coach but could move into all of the secondary if that's the way NU wants to go.

As this move likely came together quickly, Rhule hasn't said if he'll look to add another staff member to Nebraska's group or stand pat with who is in Lincoln now.
