Can Trae Taylor help the Nebraska football team land Khalil Taylor, one of the top wide receivers in the 2027 class? He's going to give it his best shot.
While the Huskers' 2026 class has been less than stellar, Matt Rhule and Co. have been making serious noise in the 2027 cycle. Taylor is one who's made the most noise, not just because of how good a commit he is, but because he's worked his butt off to secure other players to be his future teammates.

He'll certainly need to work hard to land recent Penn State decommit Khalil Taylor. However, just after the wide receiver announced he was reopening his recruitment, the future Nebraska quarterback said he was "on it right away." Considering that On3's Hayes Fawcett said the Cornhuskers are one of the eight teams in the fight, that's very good news for fans who want to see NU keep rolling on the 2027 recruiting front.
In addition to the Huskers, the wide receiver is said to be looking at Oregon, Notre Dame, Florida State, Ohio State, Syracuse, Indiana, and Tennessee. The next big step is finding a way to get him to take some visits to Lincoln and see what it has to offer.
It's always most fun when the Nebraska football team can steal away a commit to a Big Ten rival. It's especially fun when the Huskers can steal someone away from James Franklin and Penn State. While this isn't technically stealing Khalil Taylor from them, since he already decommitted, a recruiting win is a recruiting win.
