The Nebraska football team is officially moving from the Pinstripe Bowl to building for the 2025 season. One step in that direction is hosting its next target for someone to help rebuild a defensive line ravaged by graduation and the transfer portal.

After Tony White and Terrance Knighton departed for Florida State, several Blackshirts followed them out of Lincoln. Several of those who left even followed them to the Sunshine State, and now the Huskers are continuing to pursue defensive linemen from other schools to reload for new DC John Butler.

The reload continues on Friday when the Nebraska football team hosts ex-Auburn rush end TJ Lindsey. The former 4-star prospect confirmed a Husker visit himself posting on social media he’d be in Lincoln on January 3.

Originally from Bryant, Arkansas, Lindsey transferred down to IMG Academy for his senior year of high school football and was an early enrollee for Auburn in the 2024 class. He was ranked in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite as the No. 324 player and No. 40 defensive lineman, with 247Sports ranking him lower as the No. 68 defensive lineman

Out of high school, Lindsey took official visits to see Texas, Miami, Texas A&M and Auburn. It came down to Auburn and Texas before he ultimately landed on the Tigers. Nebraska football was never really in on his recruitment when he was first looking at colleges. However, they’re in the race now, even if there isn’t a prediction for him yet.

The Huskers are hoping to sway a talented player with plenty of eligibility left. We’ll know more after his weekend visit.
