The Nebraska football team is making some serious moves on the recruiting front this spring. That includes hosting one of the Huskers' top tight-end prospects in, Luke Sorensen.

The Huskers are due to host the Servite (Anaheim, CA), a 3-star prospect, this weekend, but that will be the next step in winning over a commitment from the talented athlete. NU still has plenty of power programs it needs to fight off.

Nebraska football to host TE target Luke Sorensen for pivotal official visit

Sorensen will see what the Nebraska football team has to offer starting on May 16. It marks a big weekend for the Cornhuskers and the first official visit of any 2026 prospects that aren't already committed.

According to 247Sports, the three-star prospect is the 54th-ranked tight end in the class and 140th-ranked player in California. He holds over a dozen offers, including Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, California, Florida, LSU, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, and UCLA.

Ole Miss and USC are the most prominent players trying to pull Sorensen away from the Huskers. Last month, On3's Steve Wiltfong predicted that the tight-end would commit to the Trojans. However, Matt Rhule and company still have a fighting chance since he hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

Earlier this spring, Sorensen talked to HuskerMax about where Nebraska stood in his recruitment:

"The offer meant a lot to me, especially because last year was my first year playing tight end and only my second year playing football so it was all new to me. All the hard work I put in and continue to put in feels great when it all pays out."

With a visit planned in just a few days, the Huskers have a chance to make their big pitch. Here's hoping it will be enough to convince Luke Sorensen to bring his tight-end talents to the Nebraska football program.
