Now that his playing days in Lincoln are over, Nebraska football defensive back Tommi Hill is staring at a pretty good NFL Draft in the face.

Hill had a disappointing 2024 campaign after he came back expecting to be one of the best defensive backs in the entire country. That disappointment wasn’t because he didn’t play well, but it was because he was banged up to the point where he couldn’t play at all for most of the season. But now that he’s putting his injury problems behind him, it seems like he’s ready to get off to a very good start to his professional career.

A recent 7-round mock draft put together by Pro Football & Sports Network hows that Hill is set to go in the second round. The former Nebraska football defensive back is supposed to be the No. 62 overall pick and will be headed to the Buffalo Bills.

As for why the Bills would take the defensive back, the website is plenty high on the former Husker. Though it’s not super impressed with his tackling ability. That could be why he slips to late second round.

“Tommi Hill is a uniquely built cornerback prospect with great frame density and proportional length. Particularly in Buffalo’s zone scheme, he’d be proficient.”

That would certainly be a fun place for the former Cornhusker to land and a place where he could immediately find success, playoffs wise.

What’s less fun for Nebraska footbal faithful is that according to this mock draft, the only other Husker to get drafted is defensive lineman Ty Robinson in the fourth round.
