Nebraska is ready to leave the 2025 football season in the rearview mirror as it gets ready to step into a new era without quarterback Dylan Raiola in 2026. The first step towards the 2026 season is finding out the full schedule, which Nebraska got during the big matchup against Michigan on the hardwood.

While fans were anxiously watching that, the Big Ten revealed the full schedules for every conference team, and Nebraska's is looking favorable. Head coach Matt Rhule should have the biggest smile on his face right now, especially seeing that the Huskers won't have to travel in the first three games of the season.

Being able to play all of the non-conference games at home will be huge for Nebraska, especially heading into Big Ten play, starting on the road against Michigan State. The Huskers will then get to come back home to another favorable matchup against Maryland before what should be the biggest game of the season for Nebraska.

Nebraska favorable start to the season could lead to massive matchup against Indiana

Looking at how the schedule pans out, Nebraska could easily be 5-0 heading into what will be the biggest game of the season against the reigning National Champions, the Indiana Hoosiers. It doesn't matter how many times we say it; it still feels weird.

Nebraska will be looking to end its losing streak against ranked opponents in 2026, one that dates back all the way to 2016. Taking down the reigning champs would be the biggest way to break that streak that the Huskers have to find a way to get past.

The Huskers would have another chance right after that game, as they will travel to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks, another tough game. However, if Nebraska can win at least one of those two games, the Cornhuskers could put themselves in a very favorable spot for the College Football Playoff.

With easier games like Washington, Illinois, and Rutgers next, Nebraska can catch a breath a little bit, but finishing out the season against Ohio State and Iowa will be tough. At least the Huskers will get to host the Buckeyes before heading to Iowa City for the big rivalry game.
