The Nebraska football team might have lost on Saturday, but the Blackout was a massive success on the recruiting front. Several players loved what they saw from the Huskers this weekend, and chief among them is two-way sports star Ahmad Hudson.
Hudson is the No. 3 player in Louisiana and the No. 1 tight end in the 2027 class. He's also the No. 15 player overall according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. And that's just for football. Hudson is also a talented basketball player ranked as the top player in the state, the No. 3 center, and No. 27 player in the class for hoops. Now NU is looking to take advantage of the turmoil going on with the LSU program who were once thought to be a shoo-in to land Hudson.
Nebraska football now 'out front' for 5-star TE who just visited for the USC game
Since visiting Nebraska on Saturday, many reports say that Ahmad Hudson loves what he saw. 247Sports analyst was the most effusive in saying the Huskers are leading the charge, saying they're "out front" of the pack in the recruiting of Hudson.

While there are many around the Cornhuskers program who believe Nebraska is leading for Hudson, there's a long way to go. The 5-star prospect has over 30 offers including from programs like Alabama, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, and many others.
The biggest question mark in holding onto Hudson is what LSU eventually does with their head coaching hire. The Ruston, Louisiana native could be won back by the SEC power if they make the right hire.
However, for now, the Nebraska football team has to be considered out front by a wide margin. It looks like a program on a serious heater for the 2027 class just keeps getting hotter.
