On Monday, Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule addressed talk that he might leave the Huskers for Penn State. On Tuesday, members of Rhule's staff and team did the same, with quarterback Dylan Raiola making it as clear as can be that he believes his head coach isn't leaving.
While the Nebraska Cornhuskers are trying their best to focus on the Minnesota game on Friday night, which could see them improve to 6-1, the media is understandably curious about the implications of the program being forced to go through yet another coaching search. QB1 wants everyone to know that's not an issue.
Nebraska football quarterback Dylan Raiola on Matt Rhule: 'He ain't going nowhere'
"It's just people stirring stuff up and making things bigger than it is," Raiola said when asked his thoughts on Rhule being a supposed candidate for Penn State's coaching opening. "I can tell you he's as locked in as ever on this football game to get this win."
Raiola was asked about a post he made to his Instagram stories on Monday after the Nebraska head coach's press conference.
"I just had to make sure that everybody knew that that's our head ball coach, and he ain't going nowhere," Raiola said with a smile. "He's staying right here."
The Huskers' signal caller was also asked about whether the situation has become a distraction in the locker room and how he's handling it as a captain. He first admitted that there have been some teammates who have talked to him about it.
He dismissed it as some of the younger guys not understanding that you can't believe everything you see on the internet. Then the Nebraska football team's leader delivered the hammer blow, literally the final word on the matter, on Tuesday.
"He ain't going nowhere. He loves it. It doesn't really matter what he says. His wife loves it here. She got her business going and all that stuff. So even if he wanted to, he couldn't. So he ain't going nowhere."
