Dayton and Dylan Raiola have a very interesting relationship. The younger brother has been following the Nebraska football star quarterback for most of both of their football lives. That includes as the starting quarterback at the same school. And Dayton is planning on following his big brother to the Huskers once he’s able to sign as part of the 2026 recruiting class.
As it turns out, Dayton is following in Dylan’s footsteps in another way. He’s committed to play in one of the best all-star games on the circuit. He’s about to be the second Raiola who will play in the Polynesian Bowl. The announcement about him playing in the game was made on social media on Wednesday.
Dayton’s big bro played in the same bowl game after his senior season and was one of the stars of that show. It’s both quite an honor for the Nebraska football commit and an event that is clearly near and dear to the family’s heart.
Nebraska football commit continues to show his legacy and his value
When Dayton Raiola first pulled the trigger on the commitment to the Huskers, there were definitely some who believed he only got an offer because NU wanted to reel in his brother. That his uncle was on staff was a notch in that box.
However, the younger quarterback has seen his stock go on the rise over the last year. In his junior year in high school, Dayton went 115-of-203 through the air from 1,953 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions, according to MaxPreps.
It’s a great honor for the younger Raiola and is yet another sign that he’s doing plenty on his own to impress people running All-Star games like the Polynesian Bowl. It’s also a great advertising tool for the Nebraska football team to be landing as many high school commits in these games as possible.
