Now that the Nebraska football team is trying to bounce back from its first loss of the season, Husker head coach Matt Rhule is keeping it real.

During his weekly press conference, Rhule talked about a number of subjects. He touched on how many NU players are frustrated that they couldn't get over the hump vs. the Wolverines. However, he also knows that frustration doesn't accomplish much, and at this point in his tenure, no one wants to hear they're frustrated. Everyone wants the team to simply win.

Matt Rhule's Nebraska football message resonates

"No one cares about your feelings," Rhule told the assembled media. You know, I was frustrated, they're frustrated. Play better. You know, that's the message." He added that his Nebraska squad has to put their feelings aside and move on.

"Play better, practice better. You know, I mean, it's just... No one's coming to rescue you. There's a lot of really good teams out there that are frustrated after a loss."

"I watched a lot of really good football teams on Saturday, and teams that were behind came back and won. Teams that were ahead lost. Teams lost on two-point conversions. Teams lost on a field goal. It's just the new age of football. There's a lot more parity. You lose the game, correct it, move on. We've tried to correct it. We've tried to move on."

It's a message that resonates with Nebraska fans. They're certainly tired of hearing teams promise things will get better and then playing the same. And that's really what Rhule's message was about.

The Huskers need to beat Michigan State on Saturday, despite the contest not being easy. Aidan Chiles and Co. come into Lincoln with a 3-1 record and looking to turn the corner the same way NU wants to do.

In essence, Rhule was sending a message to his own players that patience with talk about frustration and anger following a loss is wearing very thin. It's time to make it unacceptable to lose games they can win. The Nebraska football team needs to put the losses, even the close ones in the rearview mirror and just reel off victories.
