Nebraska football on verge of massive transfer portal win in former blue chip EDGE

The Nebraska could be about to score its biggest portal get of the Matt Rhule era.

Since the transfer portal opened on Monday, the Nebraska football team has been hemorrhaging players. However, it looks like the Huskers are about to score a huge win in the not-too-distant future.

Two days ago, reports began circulating that 5-star+ EDGE Williams Nwaneri was headed to the portal. On Thursday morning, he officially entered, ending some very short-lived speculation that he might have had second thoughts.

However, right after he entered the portal, he did so with a “do not contact” tag. Mere minutes after Williams Nwaneri made things official, several recruiting analysts predicted that he would join the Nebraska football program. Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos put in their official predictions but there are quite a few other analysts who believe the Huskers are the team to beat.

Nebraska football about to win a massive prospect in transfer portal race

Generally, when a player enters the portal with a “do not contact” tag it means they already have a landing spot in mind. That contact means they don’t even want to hear from other coaches who might want to win him over.

That doesn’t guarantee the Huskers will get him, but all the signs are pointing to what would be the biggest transfer portal get of the Matt Rhule era.

It would also be the first of what is expected to be several portal commitments for the Nebraska football team this year. With losses from their defensive front like Princewill Umanmielen, new defensive coordinator John Butler and new defensive line coach Terry Bradden need lots of bodies. Should one of them be one of the top prospects in his recruiting class, all the better.
