Nebraska football tight end Luke Lindenmeyer knew where he wanted to pop the question. He wanted to do it where he first saw his now fiancée, Huskers Scarlet dancer Kailyn Storovich, on the field at Memorial Stadium. He knew he wanted to do it so much that he cleared it with head coach Matt Rhule months ago. But he probably didn't plan for the night to be as perfect as it was.

During the 68-0 win over Akron, Lindenmeyer cemented himself as the starter at tight end, catching 3 passes for 44 yards. He also got his first career touchdown. He got to watch most of the game from the sideline, not because he was benched but because the Cornhuskers blasted the Zips from beginning to end. 108 Huskers saw action on Saturday night, and the starters were done for the evening by the middle of the third quarter.

After the game, there was more to celebrate for the Nebraska football player and his teammates. Lindenmeyer proposed to Storovich thanks to quite a bit of help from his friends.

Nebraska chief of staff Susan Elza helped set up the moment, which shocked Storovich as she gave her yes in a nod to Lindenmeyer. The tight end had NU director of football mental performance Dr. Michael Stout hold the ring until he was ready for it.

After the two had their moment, the rest of the Nebraska football team that was still on the field jumped around and cheered in celebration. When Lindenmeyer got to the podium after the game, he was all smiles. "She said yes. That was the best part," he said.
