Nebraska football lineman talks about his teammates have helped him grow
While the Nebraska football team is trying to decide whether or not Turner Corcoran will play another snap this season, they have the luxury of having a pretty good, and pretty young player stepping in nicely.
On Thursday, Gottula took the mic to discuss how the Huskers are preparing for the UCLA Bruins. He also talked about how he’s come along this season, his first where he’s seen this kind of action.
The Nebraska football offensive lineman also made it clear that he knows he hasn’t always been perfect. However, he believes he’s growing and so is his team.
Gunnar Gottula talks the Nebraska football season and future
“Those older guys are a huge help for me, since I got here. They’re basically like big brothers to me – just being able to fall on them and their lead and follow the standard that they’ve set here before.”
One reason why the redshirt freshman is so happy about the way things are is the way they were able to actually clear some running room at times, against an Ohio State defense that is very good.
“I think, just as an entire offense, we executed very well. We just did a great job with our assignments and played pretty physically. When you execute, good things are going to happen in the run game. I think that was a big thing.”
It’s clear that Gottula is preparing himself to get some serious playing time as the rest of the Nebraska football team heads down the home stretch and he likes what he’s seen so far this year, overall.
