Nebraska has a recruiting headache as it tries to keep latest commit from Scott Frost

Kaden Howard hasn't been a commit to the Nebraska football program all that long. And yet, it appears he's at least entertaining recruiting from other schools. One of those schools just happens to have a former Husker coach at the helm.

Less than two weeks after the talented wide receiver pulled the trigger for the Huskers, he announced on social media he'll take a trip to check out Central Florida in person. Howard will be in Orlando later this month as he's expected to visit Scott Frost's school on April 27.

The Nebraska commit is essentially checking out a school close to home. Kaden Howard plays his high school at Miami-Palmetto. That could mean that he's simply humoring Frost and UCF, as he won't have to travel far to do so. Or it could mean the Knights are putting on a full-court press to keep him home.

When Howard committed to the Huskers, he cited the environment and the coaching staff in Lincoln.

I really liked the environment. I love how they play and the way they treated me it just felt like a good fit for me and my style,” he told Rivals at the time. “I chose Nebraska because of the coaching staff, how they develop their players, how well I fit into their system, and the relationship they built with me.”

UCF and Scott Frost aren't able to replicate either of those things. If they do have an arrow in the quiver, it's that they can probably offer a player who is still undersized for the next level immediate playing time. That's something Nebraska couldn't stick to if it tried to copy the approach.
