It certainly seems like once the Nebraska football team gets Justin Joseph to Lincoln later this fall, a commitment will follow soon after.
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive tackle from St. Anthony’s High School in Melville, New York, is a member of the 2028 recruiting class. Joseph transferred from Syosset to St. Anthony’s before his sophomore season and has emerged as one of the more intriguing offensive line prospects in New York. However, for now, he’s still an extremely under-the-radar prospect with just four FBS offers and three Power 4 schools pursuing him.
Nebraska was the first school to offer Joseph, and it’s clear the relationship the coaches have built with the OT since then has been quite strong. In telling On3’s Bobby Schneider that he’ll take a visit to Lincoln, he said, "I can’t express my excitement … Nebraska has the things I look for in a school.”
Joseph doesn’t have a ranking in either recruiting service, but he’s got plenty of time to shoot up the list as the 2028 season goes on. For now, that he’s under the radar could be a big-time plus for the Huskers as they continue to revamp their offensive line under Geep Wade.
Wade is in his first year as offensive line coach in Lincoln, but he’s already had a heck of a run in the 2027 class. Jordan Agbanoma, Timi Aliu, KD Jones, Barrett Kitrell, and Matt Erickson have all committed to the Cornhuskers. So far, Wade hasn’t managed to score an offensive line commit for the 2028 class.
In fact, Nebraska doesn’t have any 2028 commits just yet. That could change rather rapidly when Justin Joseph visits Lincoln to see the Huskers take on Bowling Green. If Wade can start that cycle with yet another big-bodied offensive lineman, it would be one heck of a coup for a staff that’s building the talent brick by brick.
