Nebraska football has not produced many draft wins lately, but one offensive lineman is changing that conversation.

A lot has been made about how few NFL Draft picks Matt Rhule has produced with the Nebraska football team, but Justin Evans is already quite high on analysts' lists for the 2027 Draft.

Evans might be one of the best interior offensive linemen to come through Lincoln in quite some time. He finished the 2026 season as one of the highest rated among Pro Football Focus ratings and the analysts on that site continue to like the guard quite a bit.

Justin Evans gives Nebraska football an early 2027 NFL Draft centerpiece up front

On a revamped Nebraska offensive line that is expected to be quite better in 2026, Evans is the leader of the souped-up group. That's why PFF has him ranked as the No. 4 interior offensive lineman on their 2027 NFL Draft board.

It's worth pointing out that Evans is representing the Huskers, but he's far from the only Big Ten rep on PFF's Draft Big Board for 2027. Iowa's Kade Pieper and Oregon's Iapani Laloulu are No. 1 and No. 2 on the list.

Nebraska football offensive line could boost Justin Evans even higher in 2026

Ohio State's Luke Montgomery is right below Evans at No. 5 on the list, and Minnesota's Greg Johnson is ranked 7th. In all, of the eight interior offensive linemen on this list of most draftable guards and centers, all but three are from the B1G.

Evans is the focal point of what Husker fans hope will be an offensive line that finally starts blowing opponents off the line like the good old days.

If the unit is as good as people think, Justin Evans and the Nebraska football team could both be more impressive than even expected.
