While the Nebraska football team is finally free of Scott Frost, the Auburn Tigers are facing a similar problem to the one the former Husker coach encountered with their own man.

Earlier this week, a report surfaced that the Tigers are in a spot of trouble under head coach Hugh Freeze. The report cited some anonymous sources who claim that Freeze spends far too much time on the golf course than getting ready for the upcoming season. Husker fans who saw this report probably had a sense of déjà vu almost immediately, since former Nebraska coach Scott Frost's downfall came amid many complaints, including the idea that he preferred to spend time with a type of golf over his players and assistants.

For the ex-Nebraska football head coach, rumors were that he played a little too much video golf. For Freeze, it's supposedly the real thing.

The report on the War Eagle coach came from a story on AL.com talking about which SEC coaches play the most golf. As the article pointed out, "Freeze has dutifully posted his scores to the USGA's GHIN database, from the 78 he fired off in early June to the pair of 86s from May."

Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze under fire for logging 11 June rounds on the golf course

"Unfortunately for Freeze, his honorable scoring record came under fire on social media and message boards ... as the Tigers' recruiting struggled. A trio of blue-chip prospects decommitted from AU over the past two weeks, and fans were unhappy after realizing how much time the coach was spending on the course."

Considering the struggles of the SEC also-ran, Freeze could have something else in common with Scott Frost. He might be out of a job soon.

At the very least, like the ex-Nebraska football coach did for many years, that would allow Freeze to do the thing he likes a bit too much. However, as Golf Digest recently pointed out, while Freeze "played 11 rounds in June alone, another eight in May. His handicap index is 7.6, though given that his low index was 4.5, an argument could be made that he isn't playing enough golf."
