Nebraska football favored by a touchdown over UCLA Bruins

The Huskers have seen the line against their new Big Ten rival shrink after the opening line first released.

It appears that despite Nebraska football's near upset of Ohio State, there are some people who aren't quite convinced the Huskers are that much better than a 2-5 team coming into Lincoln. At elast if the current point spread is any indication.

NU opened the day as a 9.5-point favorite over the UCLA Bruins. However, in a few short hours the line has already shrunk to the point where the Huskers are only 7-point favorites according to FanDuel.

Maybe the Nebraska football offense still has some bettors believing that the Huskers' offense isn't quite as good as it should be at this point in the season. There's also the fact that they're just under 10 days past a 56-7 loss to Indiana.

Nebraska football has small edge over UCLA according to Las Vegas

As usual, the line moving and shedding two points has less to do with any inside info on the Huskers or the Bruins. It has more to do with how the public feels the game will turn out and what the final score will be.

Considering that UCLA's defense has mostly been it's best unit (even if it hasn't always been good) going up against a Cornhuskers offense that's struggled, it's possible bettors see the game as being close, even if NU wins.

There's also the fact that UCLA's offense played quite well in their last game, a 35-32 win over the same Rutgers team that the Nebraska football team only managed 14 points against. It appears Vegas believes the game will be close. Expect the spread to shrink even more this week.
