When Dylan Raiola decided to leave Nebraska, it felt like a mutual parting of ways. Still, Husker fans felt there was one thing missing from a move that both sides probably needed. Unlike the other NU players who entered the Transfer Portal this offseason, the starting quarterback in Lincoln for the last two seasons departed with nary a word to those who rooted for him.

Earlier this week, as the Dylan Raiola PR tour really spun up, the former Husker finally talked about the regrets he had from his time in Lincoln. He also offered thanks to the coaches and players he left behind.

"I'm very grateful for the time I had in Nebraska," Raiola said on Tuesday. "I'm very grateful for the coaches, the people, and the fans, and everyone I came across, too. But like you said, you can't emulate game-speed reps. And I think there's a lot of instances of things that I could have did better to kind of have propel our team to win."

Raiola, who was quite popular in Lincoln right up until it became clear he was leaving, also discussed what he thinks he brought to Oregon that will help him be a better quarterback with the Ducks.

"Use all those experiences for learning and propel not only myself, but this team forward. And however I can present ideas to help Dante, or whoever in the room. I'm gonna do my best to be the best teammate that I can be,"

Perhaps in a show of some hard feelings, Husker coaches haven't been shy about talking about how they believe new quarterback Anthony Colandrea could be a better fit for Dana Holgorsen's offense.

Nebraska football fans won't really get to see the Huskers' new offense until the season starts this fall. However, even when it does, there are bound to be games where Colandrea will struggle merely because NU's schedule is tougher than it was in either season of the Dylan Raiola era.
